My most important job

Well, obviously at this point in my life, my most important job is being a mother.

This includes getting up with a sick child in the middle of the night, wiping stinky butts, cleaning dirty faces, bandaging skinned knees, giving comfort whenever he needs it etc. When I got pregnant, I didn't know what I was in for. I had no idea what was involved in taking care of a infant. I can remember laying on the bathroom floor crying a number of times because he just wouldn't stop crying or he wouldn't go to sleep or he wouldn't eat enough. There was a time where I went into a deep depression. I didn't know what I was doing and I didn't have any help. I don't think that me and mike were ready to be parents AT ALL. We were both still really immature. I didn't think he helped me enough and he thought that I didn't do enough. The first year is the hardest,I think. But we made it through, alive and together. I think that says alot about our relationship. We were forced to work as a team and as soon as we realized that, our lives got much easier. We had to get on the same page to make sure that OUR son was taken care of and given the best life possible full of love and caring.

No one is perfect, we all make mistakes. I still make mistakes. There are still times when I just have to walk away because I get really stressed out. I am proud to say that my child is healthy, very happy child, so I guess I didn't do THAT bad.
Next time I am going to do things differently. I learned the hard way, what to do and what not to do.

Taking care of a baby away from family is very hard but I think it's really good when two people have to lean on each other especially husband and wife. It's important that they focus on them. I love being a mom it's amazing but it has it's rough patches now that I'm in the swing of things I still wouldn't change a thing. Every day with my son is a new experience and a reminder of how wonderful it is to be a mom.
