Putting things into prospective

There are events that happen that make us realize that we take things for granted. Unfortunately, it usually takes a tragedy to put things into prospective.

On wednesday a 15 year old was hit by a car right in front of my workplace while walking through the crosswalk. He was going to meet his mother who works in the same buliding as I do. Him and the driver of the car were killed. According to witness she ran a red light and made no attempt to stop and she went through the crosswalk hitting the boy and 2 other cars.

It makes you realize how quickly our lives can change. Most of the people I work with (including me) walk accross the street to Target all the time and that's how I leave work also. It could have easily been me or someone I know crossing the street.

It makes you want to hold your child and protect him from everything in the world. I didn't know the boy or his mother, but somehow I feel connected. Almost like I hurt for her. I can sort of feel the pain that she is going through.

Do you ever recover from losing a child? How do you move on and function? I don't know if you are ever really the same after something like that.

Please, everyone say a pray for this family.

Naked babies with dirty faces!!!!!!!

I wanted to post this because I thought that it was funny when my friend Amy (amy, how do you put in a link to your blog :/) posted a blog w/her son in just a diaper and was explaining why he was like that. I find this funny because I think mothers (myself included) feel self conscious when other people see our child not fully clothed, with a dirty face or clothes. I find myself doing this as well. I finally realized that ALL children run around in just their diaper, have dirty faces or clothes. So, I am proud of my VERY dirty and BARELY clothed child. Here are some pictures to prove it. Yes, I do make sure he is clothed and clean when we go in public, but it doesnt always stay like that. It's close to impossible to make sure that your child always has clean clothes and a clean face. ESPECIALLY BOYS!!! You can only do SO MUCH about it. I hope these pictures make you laugh and realize that other mothers have the same insecurities as you do.

I haven't blogged in a while

Well, I know I haven't posted a blog in a while, but I have been so busy w/the wedding and work and just everyday life. I feel like by time I sit down to post a blog, I'm so exhausted I can barely focus on the computer. It's hard to be on a computer all day at work, come home and actually want to go on a computer. I will post some pictures of the wedding once I get my pictures back. I can't wait to post them and show everyone what a good job my mom did on my wedding. It was everything I could have ever imagined.

Well, there is no real purpose to this post, but I wanted to post some cute pictures of Ryan.

Ryan and his cars slippers, they are too small but he likes to wear them anyways.

say cheese Ryan..................this is what you get

he is very determined, he wont stop until he does it himself

taking them off again, just so he can put them on again.....over and over and over

Okay, I'm done with the slippers................off to something else

He is just so amazing to watch. The things he does, the things he figures out on his own. You look at him and say "how did he know how to do that?" You can just see the wheels turning in his little head. He is getting to be so smart. He puts words together to the point where you can acutally understand what he says.

PS: Amy, it is OKAY for your child to walk around in his diaper or naked. It's part of being a kid. Don't worry about it too much and who cares what people think of you or your child. Your a great mom! I LOVE YOU!!
